KnowX provides access to public records, instantly and easily. They are a good resource for business and financial data, however, are not the background check service for criminal information.

The service is easy to use and offers some inexpensive, quick reports such as the basic people finder report for as low as $2.95.

The site is well organized, easy to navigate and most search titles are self-explanatory. However, we could not find a sex offender search, they offer a criminal search but you cannot view a sample without purchasing.

KnowX offers several different account types and a 20% discount for professional accounts.

KnowX offers many free searches but you have to pay to look at the reports, the prices start as low as $2.95. They offer five search categories including, Background, People, Assets, Businesses and Professional Licenses.

While some services seem to concentrate on criminal records and contact information, this site seems to focus on basic people information and financial data. Their basic background check looks for bankruptcies, judgments, lawsuits, liens, and UCC filings against a person or business. The Bankruptcy search explores all bankruptcy districts in the United States including voluntarily or involuntarily Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 petition filings.

On their FAQ page they state, "KnowX.com does not have criminal records information of any sort. We also have no prison, jail, warrants or parole record information." Therefore, we concluded that if you need this type of information, this is not the service to use.

Their ultimate people search can provide addresses and phones numbers for a fee, but they do not provide birth dates. However, through their partner, VitalChek you can get official birth and death certificates.

KnowX's sample reports appear to contain the expected information in an easy to read format. Where this site excels is the area of business information. They seem to be a good site to search for business background, asset and license information, they offer more data in this area than many other sites.

KnowX has a FAQs page and an email address where you can request information or get questions cleared up. You can also post your own question and they offer a few account management tools.
